Prof. Máirín Ní Dhonnchadha from the National University of Ireland, Galway, a specialist in Old and Middle Irish Language and Literature will give a talk on:
"Language contact and loanwords to and from Irish"
The talk of Prof. Máirín Ní Dhonnchadha is going to be most interesting. Within the context of language contact and change the most interesting s-h variants in Irish and Welsh will be discussed, e.g. Habren-Sabrin, soch-hwch, si-hedd, sil-hil and many more; those currently hotly disputed.
